Generosity Expert Comments on Giving Pledge by Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and Forty Billionaires

Aug. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Bestselling author and generosity expert, Brian Kluth, applauds the Giving Pledge movement by billionaries, but encourages millions and billions of others to make their own Giving Pledge.

Four years ago, Brian Kluth took his idea for a small book on a "40 Day Journey to a More Generous LIfe" to seven publishers.  All the publishers rejected it saying no one wants to learn to become more generous.  So, he and his wife self-published the book.  There are now over 400,000 copies in print and the book is being translated into over 40 languages for free distribution around the world.

Kluth believes, like Buffet, Gates, and 40 other billionaires that it is a good to make a decision to be generous and then to actively support the causes and organizations you care about wholeheartedly.

While Kluth applauds what these 40 billionaires are doing, he likes to point out that according to World Bank statistics at http://www.Globalrichlist.com that if a person makes just $47,500 they are in the TOP 1% of the world's richest people.  Over 3 billion people, half the world's population, gets by on $2 or less per day.  Kluth says, "Generosity is not just for the billionaires, but for billions of people in the world.  Everyone is to learn to become generous from whatever they have, whether it is little or much.  In my own life, my family has chosen to live on a 5-figure salary, but we give 6-figures to help charitable and Christian organizations."

In Kluth's newest book, he identifies the 4 S's needed for anyone to become generous:
#1 is to SEE what you have.  
#2 is to SET something aside to give.  
#3 is to SYSTEMATICALLY give.  
#4 is to SPONTANEOUSLY give.  
Kluth says, "Anyone can follow these 4 simple steps and it will lead them to a more generous, content, and fulfilled life.  Contentment doesn't come from getting everything you want, but by being thankful and sharing from everything you have."
