Follow on Google News | Miss Teen East Coast, of Maryland, Crowned Miss Teen International 2010Juliana McKee, of Laytonsville, Maryland was crowned Miss Teen International 2010, Saturday, July 24th. She will promote the American Heart Association’s Alliance for a Healthier Generation campaign during her reign.
By: International Pageants In keeping with International Pageants’ platform-focus and dedication to highlighting young women’s accomplishment through community support, McKee will continue her work on behalf of the American Heart Association’ “I am honored to have been selected Miss Teen International 2010 and I’m so grateful that though my new role I’ll be able to speak to thousands more children and teens about the importance of living healthy lives,” said McKee. “My goal this year is to travel to at least one state per month as a spokesperson for Alliance for a Healthier Generation and to help take their mission international.” McKee will be a sophomore at the University of Maryland this fall, where she is studying communications. In addition to supporting her platform, she also will volunteer for the American Heart Association’ The Miss Teen International Pageant is the only platform- based system and is owned and operated by International Pageants, Inc., which also operates the Miss and Mrs. International competitions. FINAL RESULTS: First runner up: Miss Teen Pennsylvania International, Sophia Elizabeth Medairy, of Hollidaysburg. Her platform is heart health awareness. Second runner up:Miss Teen Arkansas International, Mollie Parker, of Jonesboro. Her platform is Promoting Purity through Abstinence. Third runner up: Miss Teen Texas International, Sydney Datcher, of Keller. Her platform is education, advocacy and services for people with disabilities. Fourth runner up: Miss Teen Tennessee International, Jurnee Carr, of Johnson City. Her platform is animal rights. End
