Surface Mount Technology Corp. announced the hiring of Greg Burneske as Senior Vice President

Aug. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Surface Mount Technology Corporation, a leading provider of product development and contract manufacturing services located in Appleton WI, announced today that Gregory (Greg) Burneske has been hired as Senior Vice President of Engineering.  Mr. Burneske will be responsible for new business development and providing overall strategic direction for SMT Engineering, LLC.

Greg has more than 22 years of new product development experience and is a proven executive leader with expertise in all aspects of new product development including product strategy, concept development, project portfolio management, innovation processes, project management, R&D and volume manufacturing.  Greg brings product development expertise for diverse markets including: Medical, Wireless, Automotive, Industrial, Consumer, Telecom/Datacom.

Prior to joining Surface Mount Technology Corporation Greg was Vice President of Engineering at Winland Electronics, Inc. and manager of Analog and RF Systems Group with Plexus Corp., a top tier contract manufacturer with product development capability.  During his tenure at Plexus, he was responsible for managing new product development with an emphasis on wireless medical device development, as well as design process quality, operations and new business development efforts.
