CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior Living Communities, a Charlotte, N.C.-based owner and operator of luxury retirement communities recently recognized employees Kelly Stranburg, Tonya Ray and Katie Huffstetler for making an outstanding contribution to the senior living industry.
The women received a Supernova award for their participation in implementing and promoting the company’s WAVES program, which is an aquatic therapy class designed to reduce symptoms associated with dementia. The program earned Senior Living Communities its first “Best of the Best” award in 2010 from the Assisted Living Federation of America.
Program implementation was designed and supervised by Stranburg, who is the company’s vice president of member services, and the program was piloted at Summit Hills retirement community in Spartanburg, S.C. by Ray, who is the community’s wellness coordinator.
Huffstetler serves as public relations director and was involved in promoting the program as well as assisting with the “Best of the Best” nomination process.
The ladies accepted the award during a special ceremony at Senior Living Communities’
