Hi everybody! This is Jerry Bryant, and this week we are covering events from Tuesday August 3rd, through Wednesday August 11th.

Alright, this week around Nashville, here’s what’s happening:

On Wednesday, August 4th, through Friday, August 6th, the Awakening Youth Conference will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Whites Creek. This conference is being called the “You Can Make It Crusade”, and begins Wednesday, at 5pm.  

On Thursday, August 5th, at 6pm, “A Life Well Lived” life management training will be held at Christ Church in South Nashville.

On Friday, August 6th, at 12 Noon, please join the Unity of Believers Radio Program on Solid Gospel 105.1 FM, for your lunch time entertainment. If you miss this broadcast at noon, you can catch it again at 11:30pm. Also starting on Friday, at 5pm, First Presbyterian Church in Nashville is hosting a Family Camp Weekend at NaCoMe, near Centerville. At 5:30pm, the Nashville Outlaws baseball team is having a Faith and Family Night at Hawkins Field, with a pre-game concert by Phil Stacey. At 6pm, Christ Church Cathedral is hosting a sacred soul space lecture and story telling, titled “Tales of An Angel, A Snake, A Rat and A Whale.” At 7pm, the Friday Night Meltdown will be held at the Fortress of Hope in downtown Nashville. At the same time, directly across the street, Friday Night Fire, a time of extravagant worship and intercession, will be held at The Foundry. At 7:30pm, Andrew Peterson will be in concert, at Fellowship Baptist Church, with his “Counting Stars” album release show.        

On Saturday, August 7th, starting at 11am, Faith, Hope, and Love Fellowship is holding a Caribbean Festival in Antioch. FREE food, games, fun and fellowship. At 5:30pm, Old Hickory Church of the Nazarene is hosting their Summerfest Concert with Erik Bledsoe and the Whooshpod Cadets.    

On Sunday, August 8th, beginning at 10am, Otter Creek Church of Christ will host the educational exhibit, “World Vision Experience: AIDS – Step Into Africa”, an interactive multimedia experience that illustrates the devastation of the AIDS pandemic as experienced by the children. At 7pm, “Libera”, a boys choir from England, will give a special concert in the sanctuary of Brentwood United Methodist Church. Also at 7pm, Big Band Dances in Centennial Park feature tango night with Radio Daze. This is a free singles event by Christ Church, with live music and free dance lessons.

On Wednesday, August 11th, at 6:30pm, there is a cancer support group that meets at People’s Church in room 164B, next to the bookstore. This group is for anyone who either has cancer or who has a loved one with cancer. Everyone has an opportunity to share their thoughts, fears, and praises. This group meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
