BedRyder awarded US Patent for removable truck bed seating

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 2, 2010 - BedRyder, Inc was recently awarded US Utility patent # 7762603 for their removable truck bed seating system.  The BedRyder seating system is designed to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for passenger seating when installed in the vehicle.  The system minimizes truck body contact points while providing a rock-solid attachment that will support over 10,000lbs of force.  In a matter of seconds the complete unit can be removed, leaving nothing in the truck bed to inhibit other uses and weighs in at just 60lbs.  Each unit comes with SFIA approved over the shoulder racing harnesses.

The new Cafe fuel consumption standards will become effective in 2012 and fully implemented by 2016.   Light trucks will need to average 30mpg and BedRyder feels that the small pickup truck market will grow as a result.  There will be a tradeoff between passenger seating space and cargo space.  The BedRyder seating system allows you to have both.  The BedRyder seating system will also work in mini-truck/utility vehicles.
