A Great Family Day Out M’hearties!

Aug. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Get your captain’s hat on and set sail for Museum Park this August as SeaSwansea returns for a fun-packed pirate themed weekend, full of free activities and entertainment.

The spectacular sea and land-based event takes place on 14 & 15 August between 11am and 5pm at Museum Park, in the National Waterfront Museum Grounds, Swansea.

This year’s SeaSwansea is set to be bigger than ever and for the first time, The Matthew - the world famous replica Tudor merchant ship will be docking in Swansea Marina, giving visitors a chance to step back in time and explore the historical vessel.

More 2010 highlights include swashbuckling with the Pike and Shot Pirates re-enactment, a Best Dressed Boat competition and live music from notorious seafaring band ‘The Pyrates' who, armed with their guitar, mandolin and bass, will have the crowds singing along in no time to their mix of folk songs and shanties.

Also not to be missed is the Newfoundland Dog Display, the Sail Swansea Exhibition as well as Maritima’s woodcarving exhibit and the Model Boat Show.  And don’t forget to climb aboard the Mumbles Lifeboat or Swansea’s very own historic vessel - The Olga.
