Follow on Google News | Mayor of Hailsham Supports Hailsham 999 Fun DayFamilies turned out to enjoy the summer sunshine and see behind the scenes of the emergency services at a 999 Fun Day, held at the Hailsham East Community Centre and Maurice Thornton Field last Saturday.
By: Terry Hall, Hailsham Town Council Demonstrations were held at regular intervals throughout the day by Lowland Search Dogs, and HM Coastguards, St. John Ambulance and East Sussex County Council Road Safety were on hand to give advice and talk about what they do. Representatives from East Sussex Fire and Rescue, Wealden District Council, Active Play and Crimestoppers also took part in the day, along with a number of other community organisations. A number of exhibitors and stall holders also made sure that there were plenty of activities to interest visitors. Commenting on the event, Cllr Kempe said, “The 999 Fun Day provided people with the opportunity to find out more about the work of the emergency services, see some of the equipment they use close up and get to know their local police and fire service teams. It also raised awareness about what the public can do to tackle community safety issues in the area.” “There was a wide range of activities for people of all ages and, overall, the event proved to be an excellent opportunity for members of the Hailsham community to mingle and have some fun.” “It was a thorough pleasure to invited to the event as a special guest and take part in its activities, and I would like to thank each and everyone involved in organising the 999 Fun Day for making it such a success!” For all enquiries relating to this press release, contact: Terry Hall, Hailsham Town Council Inglenook Market Street Hailsham East Sussex BN27 2AE United Kingdom End
