July 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Hair care is an essential requirement for maintaining the overall personality. Good and beautiful hair can be easily achieved by some simple natural or home-made remedies.

Home care is long been associated with hair care and here are some of the best natural tips.

•   Cleanliness is one the most significant need of hair care. You can get spotlessly clean hair by using good quality of brushes, shampoos, and conditioners. Always use shampoo and conditioner with more of Ayurvedic herbs that offer good health without any kind of side effects or damage. Combs and brushes used should be washed regularly and kept into a bag. Use lukewarm water for washing and a cool water rinse to ensure toning of the scalp.
•   Regular massage is also essential for hair care. This helps in preventing hair loss and also offers good health and shine. Massage with good oil or lotion helps improve circulation and ensures increased blood supply to the hair roots. This helps in relieving tension, strengthening the roots, and promoting hair growth. The oil used should be naturally made and free of chemicals. Oils made of brahmi, bhringraj, and amla are really beneficial and nourishing as well.
•   Always use good shampoo for washing. There are various ayurvedic shampoos available in the market today that are effective in removing dirt without any harm to the natural functioning of the scalp. You can even prepare a shampoo at home by mixing one tablespoon of grated ritha and shikakai in boiling water. Allow it to cool and then use it as a regular shampoo. Most of the modern day shampoos have chemicals that strip the outer protein layer of the hair and cause damage.
•   Conditioners are also important especially if you use shampoos that are acidic in nature. There are many types available today among which most have chemicals that give temporary shine but in reality damage your hair. These harmful conditioners provide an oily layer that easily traps dirt and cause a dull look. The best conditioner can be prepared at home by mixing sugar, lemon juice, and water in the ratio of 2:1:5. Instead of sugar you can also use honey that offer an even more soft and silky look to your hair. After washing apply this mixture and rinse after allowing it to stay for two to three minutes. The end result is soft, silky, and beautiful hair. Apart from this henna, egg, and curd are also good conditioners.
