July 30, 2010 - PRLog -- On May 28th Kendra Creeks's extremities were amputated when they turned black. Her mind-boggling ordeal started on May 1st with a headache, visit to the emergency room and being hospitalized for bacterial meningitis. Kendra's story is especially moving to Second Chance with Saving Grace (SCwSG) Founder and President Dr. Diane Dike. Diane was only 23 when her legs turned black and were almost amputated. Her compelling medical story was recently documented on Mystery Diagnosis, "The Woman Whose Legs Turned Black," Discovery Health’s most popular television show. Upon hearing about Kendra’s lack of insurance and her need for help, Diane set up the Kendra Creek Medical Fund at the First Bank in Eagle, Colorado to raise funds to buy Kendra new arms and legs.

After three years of staggering symptoms Diane was finally diagnosed with a debilitating, incurable blood disease called, Cryoglobulinemia Vasculitis. In the midst of her despair Diane discovered the secret to happiness and became an expert in perseverance and overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Today, twenty-one years later she doesn’t let what she can’t do keep her from doing what she CAN! She challenges all to “Stay Strong and Courageous-No matter What!” Dedicating her remaining days to being a light in the darkness. Diane's relentless passion to help hurting people and animals resulted in the formation of SCwSG, whose mission is to transform lives with help and hope. She's an award-winning warrior “Popping Wheelies” in her wheelchair fighting to keep her life and her limbs with a special pal strapped to her chest.

That special Pal is an Italian Greyhound named, Gracie. Despite daily challenges seven years ago Diane helped a broken little dog. Today they celebrate life by going where no woman and dog have gone before. With a new lease on life  and Diane’s hero husband, Paul, these motivational speakers, singers and authors of The Adventures of Gracie & Diane book series and autobiography, God Made Only One of Me visit orphanages, hospitals, nursing homes, churches, businesses, wherever they are invited to share their incredible story. They are in talks with a producer about a reality RV-Television show called, “The Adventures of Gracie & Diane.” Viewers will join them on trailblazing missions while they inspire families and give away Love Kits of Hope and Encouragement. All these encouragers need now is: an RV to travel across the country. They gave the one they had to Kendra’s family because they are homeless while taking care of her.

Chad Reece, Director of marketing from Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa has offered them a 2004 32 ft. Diesel-pusher RV that recently came back in from Wheel-a-Fortune with 87,000 miles for $50,000. SCwSG was halfway there when a donor pledged 25,000. but he had to drop that pledge to 5,000 after a business deal fell through. If you can help by donating an RV or make a tax-deductible donation towards the purchase price, this remarkable family can get back to fulfilling their purpose in life: serving others and making the world a better place.

On August 8, 15 and 29 you can help by coming to the Helping Hands Extravaganza at the Eagle County Fairgrounds from 11 am - 4 pm. There will be a car wash, bake sale, massages, raffles, fun activities for the kids and much more. Meet author Dr. Diane Dike and her Service Dog Gracie and get your books personally autographed! Tax-deductible donations can be made at First Bank or mailed to: SCwSG, PO Box 673, Eagle, CO 81631.
