Joining the recent resurgence of fantasy adventures like “Clash of the Titans”, 'Robin Hood", "The Prince of Persia” and the upcoming “Conan”, Curnan Pictures with Albert Pyun have commenced a road show taking "Tales of an Ancient Empire" across America. The feature length film stars; Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, Andromeda), Victoria Maurette (Left for Dead, Bulletface, Rebel’s Way), Melissa Ordway (The Last Song, 17 Again, Melrose Place) and Jennifer Siebel-Newsom, the current First Lady of San Francisco- Gavin Newsom's wife.
TALES OF AN ANCIENT EMPIRE WORLD PREMIERES IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY AT FRIGHT NIGHT FILM FESTIVAL/CONVENTION SATURDAY JULY 31. Award winning Director Albert Pyun (Cyborg, Nemesis, The Sword and the Sorcerer, Ticker) describes Tales as “a bit of a throwback to an 80's action fantasy. Tales is what would have been a grindhouse matinee film.” The story concerns a Princess (Ordway) trying to unite the greatest warriors (Sorbo, Janelle Taylor-- of Mr. and Mrs., Smith, ER, Scrub) in the world to avenge the murder of her sister (Siebel-Newsom)
The film was shot in Los Angeles by producer Sazzy Calhoun (Angles in The Outfield, Mean Guns and Playboy).
Kipp Downing and Tony Riparetti are the executive producers with Riparetti also handling the music composing and sound design via his Sound Logic Studio in Santa Barbara, California.
Curnan Pictures principal and Tales screenwriter Cynthia Curran tells us "We are rolling out “Tales Of An Ancient Empires “ in festivals, conventions, and theaters in cities where sword and sorcery fans reside. Curnan Pictures has also partnered with Magic Rock Entertainment, a distributor based in Irwindale, California, to distribute "Tales of an Ancient Empire" throughout North America via Video on Demand.
