The economy is tough today, but Elkhart County will come charging back. In anticipation of it return to glory, the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce is embracing social media. One of the platforms you can find them using is Facebook... Not just a regular page either, instead they have partnered with DIR Incorporated to design, develop, and promote its own non-template customized Facebook business fanpage in 100% static fbml.
Why is this so important is wonder?
Technology is changing fast , and according to Social Media expert Rob Rohena, "Despite its over 400 million users Facebook is by far the most untapped Social Media vehicle. There is still a ton of room for CRM and e-commerce."
Elkhart's rich history, and Facebook's bright future make Facebook the perfect place for the Chamber's to reach and attract new businesses.
Why someone in business would want to know about the Chamber on Facebook?
Well, there are several great reasons for that too.
First, it all starts here. Elkhart is the most innovative, entrepreneurial community in America. Elkhart is the RV Capital of the World, headquarters to international corporations, and the birthplace of Alka Seltzer and innovations in electronics and band instruments. Elkhart County boasts more patents than any other Hoosier county outside the state capitol.
Yet life is not too fast-paced or unbearable. People are friendly, and it offers a home-town community in the heart of Amish Country.
Second, things are built here. Recreational vehicles, boats, musical instruments, precise laser devices, customized Fanbook fanpages and everything in between are made in this community. A strong network of supply industries helps support these and other industries. The low business cost, access to skilled labor and an abundance of dreams encourage the entrepreneurial spirit to thrive here.
In a recent survey, “Business climate/entrepreneurship”
Thirdly, recreation and activity. Elkhart is built around Island Park the island resembling an elk's heart; hence, the name Elkhart. This park is located near the confluence of the beautiful St. Joseph and Elkhart rivers. Many lakes are in or around the Elkhart community and Lake Michigan beaches are only an hour away. It is no wonder residents chose “access to water activities” as one of the best things about living in Elkhart.
Beautiful golf courses, parks and hiking/biking trails add to area recreational offerings.
Fourth, the business community is guided by the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, which has been “Leading Business … Leading our Community” since 1926.
With over 500 active volunteers and more than 1,100 business members, the Chamber is poised to lead the Elkhart County economy through the 21st Century.
Hence, it is important that the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce give a great first impression to visitors and perspective business partners; the “heart” of a strong business community.
Much of the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce's work is led by volunteer councils. In fact, Social Media expert Rob Rohena, Founder & CEO of DIR Incorporated is an active member of the Minority Business Council and volunteered his companies services to create a non-template based Facebook business fanpage
