Eagle Boy Scout (BSA) is Main Character in New Novel – Green Spin

July 29, 2010 - PRLog -- With the recent release of his new tech thriller Green Spin on Amazon.com, author John Pilmer talks about the important role Scouting plays in the development of the book’s main character, Jack Knighton.  

“Green Spin character Jack is a product of a principle-baseed upbringing including Scouting,” stated John Pilmer. “This year’s BSA celebration of 100 years of Scouting is a good time to launch Green Spin because Jack’s terrifying fictional story draws on strengths developed in part through the Boy Scout program.”

In a video interview, the book’s author reveals that no less than nine points of the Scout Law are found in Jack’s fictional character. Under great stress,he draws on these strengths of character as he faces life-changing and urgent situations and decisions throughout the pages of Green Spin.

“In the story, I draw on my own childhood memories of Scouting,” offered Pilmer. “Loyalty, bravery, and reverence are key parts of Jack’s character, along with childhood antics from my own experience at summer camp, We cover a fictionalized account of these in Green Spin.”
