DSS Corporation will provide a session on CORE NG 911 Elements: The Logging Service at National APCO

Southfield, MI – DSS Corporation, (www.dispatchimprovement.com) announced today that it will be speaking at the National APCO 2010 Conference in Houston Texas. The subject is CORE NG 911 Elements: The Logging Service.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 29, 2010 -
The Logging Service replaces the legacy recording system under NG9-1-1, and has a greatly expanded role: all media and all significant incident-related events must be logged. It's a core service of NG9-1-1, and is the critical hub for all other NG services and systems. Directors and Technologists responsible for NG PSAPs and networks will learn how the Logging Service supports the Virtual PSAP concept critical to making NG work, and how this concept can provide greater functionality at a lower cost. The Logging Service must be fully understood before attempting to design any NG9-1-1 network or PSAP. Roughly 25% of the allotted time will be reserved for Q&A. The session will be give by DSS Corporation’s chief technologies Michael Smith.

Southfield, MI based DSS Corporation has been serving Public Safety for more than 20 years. Its flagship product, Equature®, was designed from the ground up to support Next Generation content and functionality. DSS is privately held, and is also active in the private sector with both communications recording and document management solutions.

Michael Smith has served in a technology management capacity for four of the major recording companies over the past 25 years. In his capacity as Chief Technologist for DSS Corporation, Michael is responsible for providing technical guidance for DSS's Logging Service platform. As co-leader of the joint APCO/NENA NG 9-1-1 PSAP Working Group, he is involved in writing NG requirements and standards. Michael also chairs NENA's ICE 8 Planning Committee, which performs interoperability testing of Logging Service interfaces.
