Allstate agency owner Maureen Harrison was recently named an Agent Hero by Allstate Insurance Company’s New York Region, and awarded a $500 grant for a local youth program.
Harrison donated the grant to Life's Journey Equine Therapy, a therapeutic riding program for special needs children and teens modeled after the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) guidelines for member centers. Their emphasis is on riding for sport and recreation, and to help promote greater self-esteem, confidence and freedom through movement.
The Life’s Journey program is held at the Ramapo Equestrian Center in Pomona, where Harrison does dressage riding.
“As an Allstate agent, I believe it is my responsibility to demonstrate the Good Hands Promise in the community every single day,” said Harrison, whose office is located at 167 Route 304 in Bardonia. “It is an honor to be able to donate this grant to Life's Journey and hopefully touch the lives of the youth who are involved.”
