“Complex Cases in Primary Care”, an innovative medical education activity series produced by TCL Institute, is currently occurring in multiple U.S. cities.  The activity, accredited by the Duke University Office of CME and supported by multiple pharmaceutical companies, is receiving lavish praise from attendees and faculty members alike.

TCL Institute will be hosting a conference in Rosemont on July 31, as part of the Complex Cases series.  So far, this is new CME activity has been successfully launched in Houston, Texas as well as Cary, North Carolina.  During the Houston conference, doctors were given the opportunity to provide any feedback they had, which can be viewed with the following link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhSALXUoNxU.

“I think the concept is very innovative, because many times people go to a conference, they’re listening, they’re passive, they’re not engaged.  I love the way we have all the interactive sessions, the way the speakers are speaking directly to the audience, and then the small group sessions where you can brainstorm and go around the table and get everyone involved,” explained Elena Ruocco, Nurse Practitioner at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital.

The factor that sets this conference apart from other CME activities is the interactivity and participation that engages the healthcare professionals in the audience. The educational design of the conference is meant to draw the audience in by working together, rather than passively taking in hours of information from a speaker.  Host of the event, Bill O’Neill spoke on the success of this design thus far.

“It’s great to see physician learners embrace this interactive approach to education. While participants are certainly learning from the faculty, they are clearly relishing the opportunity to teach and learn from each other as well. The level of engagement, energy, and enthusiasm in each of our sessions has been gratifying,” said O’Neill.

Healthcare Professionals in the Chicago area can register for this complimentary conference online on www.TotalMedEd.com.  This conference will credit attendees with 7.25 hours of CME, all in one day.
