West Nyack, NY & Albany, NY – Congressional Candidate York Kleinhandler filed his signature petitions in Albany on July 15 and is set to appear on election ballots in this September's primary election. Kleinhandler, who has already been endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Independence Parties of the 17th District, will now appear on the ballot representing all three parties. Election law requires candidates to submit signature petitions in order to run for office under a particular political party affiliation. On his petitions, Kleinhandler submitted over twice as many signatures required to carry the Republican and Conservative Party lines and more than surpassed the number of Independence Party signatures required.
"While some might view the petition and signature process as more of a formality, I see it as a great opportunity to connect with voters and talk about the leadership and solutions I will bring to Washington."
Kleinhandler submitted his Republican and Conservative Party petitions in person in Albany this afternoon in between meetings with party officials and supporters. On the Republican petition, Kleinhandler filed approximately 2,900 petitions, on the Conservative petition approximately 400 petitions were filed, and on the Independence petition, Kleinhandler filed approximately 600 petitions. The combined signatures gathered across party lines show that the work and message of York Kleinhandler is being well-received by people living in the Bronx, Westchester and Rockland Counties, independence of party affiliation.
York Kleinhandler is a candidate for the United States House of Representatives from New York's 17th Congressional District. York has received the endorsement of the National Defense PAC, the Republican National Hispanic Assembly New York State Chapter, Combat Veterans for Congress, and is the endorsed candidate of the Republican, Conservative and Independence Parties of the 17th Congressional District.
