A New "Legend" is Born

July 28, 2010 - PRLog -- It’s not an everyday opportunity to be a part of a living legend, let alone create one.  The team at the Creative Works’ Theme Factory was able to do both within a new family entertainment center called Laser Legend in the Lone Star State.  This recently opened 10,000 square foot entertainment facility is located approximately 100 miles south of Abilene, TX in the community of Live Oak.

Their offerings include a large arcade, party rooms, Noble Roman’s pizza, and a 5,100 square foot laser tag arena with an upper level play structure.  Jason Overman, the owner of Laser Legend, was looking to create an atmosphere like no other.  He searched the industry and came to Creative Works to make his dream a reality.  The Theme Team at Creative Works met his challenge by designing a laser tag arena from the ground up which included a custom entrance archway, briefing room, vesting room, and arena with 14 foot tall robotic Battledroids, new obstacles, props and much more.

To add realism to the experience for the players, the custom archway into the laser tag arena was envisioned to be the back of a cargo shuttle to board players and begin their mission.  Players were briefed on their mission and led into the vesting area where they would suit up for the laser tag adventure.  With phasers in hand, players entered the game environment prepared for their laser battle.

To help round out the facility, Creative Works themed the lobby and arcade areas to resemble a futuristic space environment.  Additionally the Theme Team during the course of the project assisted with the architect’s, contractor’s, and the local city official’s questions to ensure the project moved smoothly along.  “We were proud to be part of this project and we look forward to his success,” said Jeff Schilling, the Chief Architect of Experiences for Creative Works.

During the installation of this project, the Creative Works team got to experience the legendary heat of Texas.  Despite the very high temperatures, the Theme Team was still able to impress.  “Your theme work was excellent and your crew has been your strongest asset to the entire project,” said Jason.  “The team was able to make changes on the fly to create the high tech space environment we were looking for in our facility.  They were outstanding!”  You can find Laser Legend on the web at:  http://www.laserlegend.com
