York Kleinhandler: Three Party Nominee

West Nyack, NY – US Army Veteran York Kleinhandler’s campaign gained third party support when it was announced that he had secured the Independence Party endorsement for the 17th Congressional District seat.

On Monday, May 17th, the Republican committee members from Rockland voted overwhelmingly (by better than a 2 to 1 margin) to endorse York Kleinhandler’s candidacy. That night the Bronx Republican Committee announced that its Executive Committee unanimously endorsed York Kleinhandler as well.  

On Monday, May 24th, the Conservative Party announced that it was endorsing York as their candidate in the upcoming November election.  That night the Members of the Westchester Republican Party Committee in an open roll call vote endorsed York, giving him a clean sweep of all three counties that make up the 17th Congressional District.  

After the Westchester convention Doug Coltey, Chairman of the Westchester GOP said “We are proud to have York Kleinhandler as our candidate in the 17th. He has what it takes to win this seat for the Republican Party and he won’t be afraid to take on the liberal establishment in Washington”.

“I think it’s time to bring some common sense to politics and to Washington” Kleinhandler said. “I am honored that an overwhelming majority of the local committee people - the backbone of the party - have rallied behind me.  It is time to put this country back on course and secure the future for our children and grandchildren.  One of the most important aspects of this campaign is to restore faith in our country.  Let’s get America working again.”  

York Kleinhandler expressed his interest in running for Congress in November 2009 while in Afghanistan on his 2nd tour there.  Kleinhandler said “To secure the nomination from three different party committees as an outsider with less than three months in politics is both humbling and uplifting.”

The Rockland County Republican Party Chairman, Vincent Reda, presided over the Rockland County Republican convention and said, “The Party has overwhelmingly spoken and we are fully behind Kleinhandler.”

York Kleinhandler is a candidate for the United States House of Representatives from New York's 17th Congressional District.  York has received the endorsement of the National Defense PAC, Combat Veterans for Congress, and is the endorsed candidate of the Republican, Conservative and Independence Parties of the 17th Congressional District.
