Media Training – Why It Matters?
What is Media Training and why should you care about it? Media Training is a process; it is an opportunity to make to make sure that when the opportunity comes for you to interact with the Media that you are practiced and prepared to say what you have to say without sounding like you’re fishing for an answer. Media Training is about having the skill and acumen to make your point without rambling.
The Opportunity That Media Training Provides
Media Training is an opportunity to not only get your message out to the public, but Media Training is also an opportunity to “bond” with the media representative that is interviewing you. And let me make this clear, if a member of the media is impressed with the way you talk to them about your topic, you will receive a much better media experience and by extension a much better media placement.
I often have people ask my why they should get Media Training when they have done many interviews over the course of time. The answer is quite simple: No matter how practiced you are, you can always be better. I have been actively involved with radio for the better part of 17 years and I would like to think that over that time I got better the more I did it. It makes sense, right? Same thing goes for doing Media. Practice does make perfect and Media Training gives you that opportunity.
Media Training and Objectivity
The objectivity a media trainer brings to the process is invaluable. A quality media trainer will learn your topic, they will crawl inside your topic and they will find nuggets of gold in your message that you never knew existed. Don’t believe it? I have over 4000 clients that would beg to differ with you. I have yet to meet anyone who hasn’t benefited from Media Training, and that’s not my ego talking, it’s my experience.
The question remains a simple one, why do you need Media Training? And the answer remains simple as well: If you have something that worth saying then it’s worth saying well. Trust me, there is a difference.
