tebu-bio laboratories, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, have acquired solid experience in E. coli protein production, with their large, well equipped facilities allowing for multiple projects to be handled simultaneously.
This solid background has led to the development of a standard optimisation service, simply requiring the customer to provide their gene of interest cloned in an expression vector or the transformed bacteria. Expression of the protein is then tested, with results generally provided in approximately two weeks following commencement of the project. Four important parameters are monitored (temperature, induction time, inducer concentration & induction duration) and full quality control is performed by SDS-PAGE with Coomassie staining and Western Blot.
“Our experience shows that for 8 projects out of 10, protein expression in E. coli can be optimised, or even just simply be made possible by a multi-parametric approach”, says Olivier Roumanie (Project Manager, tebu-bio laboratories)
This service complements the range of services available from tebu-bio, such as the cell line engineering services SilenciX® & ExpressiX® (stably silenced cell lines & custom services to stably over-express a gene of interest – http://www.tebu-
