Birmingham home to UK’s most pampered women

A study by the UK’s leading daily city deals website has revealed that the West Midlands is home to the most pampered women in the UK. The study found that 79% of women would rather live without the internet than beauty products.

July 27, 2010 - PRLog -- of 1,217 women across the UK to discover how important pampering is to them and if it is a luxury they could live without.

According to the research by http://www.Groupola.com women from the West Midlands, specifically Birmingham, pamper themselves more so than any other city in the UK.

Almost two thirds of the women from Birmingham, 64%, claim to pamper themselves at least twice a week. A further 58% of women from Coventry and 53% of women from Worcester also admit to pampering themselves twice a week.

When asked ‘is pampering yourself something that you could live without?’ the majority of the respondents, 56%, say they couldn’t and less than 1 in 10, 8% feel that pampering is something that they can live without.

According to the poll byhttp://www.Groupola.com, the top ten locations of the most pampered women in the UK, based on the percentage that pamper themselves at least twice a week, are;  

1.       Birmingham – 64%
2.       Coventry – 58%
3.       Worcester – 53%
4.       London – 49%
5.       Leicester –  42%
6.       Southampton – 36%
7.       Cardiff – 31%
8.       Liverpool – 27%
9.       Exeter -  24%
10.   Manchester – 18%

79% of the respondents say they would rather live without the internet than their beauty products and a further 18% value their beauty products more than fashion. 2% of the women asked admitted that their beauty products are more important to them than their partner.  

When asked the multi-answer question by http://www.Groupola.com ‘what beauty product would you take with you on a desert island?’ the most popular product was moisturiser, with 71% of the respondents admitting this is what they would take, followed by foundation, 67% and mascara with 64%.

Women see pampering as a social experience as well as something that boosts confidence.  Although the top three cities are situated near each other, it would certainly seem as though pampering is a nationwide hobby for women.”
