ABC11 Eyewitness News Sponsors Raleigh Wide Open

RALEIGH, N.C. – ABC 11 Eyewitness News (http://www.abc11.com) has announced it will sponsor the fifth annual Raleigh Wide Open celebration, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.  Raleigh Wide Open will be held in the City Plaza downtown and will feature a parade down Fayetteville Street, four stages for local acts and artists, a kid’s zone, food tents, and fireworks.  Raleigh Wide Open brings together Raleigh residents in the summer to celebrate the revitalization of downtown.  The celebration began in 2006 to mark the return of Fayetteville Street to vehicle traffic and has resumed each year since to celebrate the growth of energy, art and entertainment downtown.
