(Toronto, ON/Edmonton, AB) – The Consonance are excited to launch their first-ever Western Canadian tour this summer in support of their new album Come The Day, set to release on July 16th, 2010. The band will give Western Canadian audiences a chance to experience their dynamic and jazzified, funk and hip hop-infused live show for the first time beginning July 16th in Edmonton and finishing up July 30th in Vancouver.
The Consonance began as six young jazz students from Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, AB who were drawn together in an effort to create a carefree and creative musical environment. They began writing songs and quickly formed a hip-hop/jazz band called The Consonance. Sensing great chemistry early in their song writing process, they began recording and performing immediately. The Consonance released their first recording, the
More Alive EP, in March of 2009.
Each member of The Consonance come from a uniquely separate musical background which, when fused together creates a fresh genre that is truly their own. With smooth, melodic lines, unforgettable lyrics combined with danceable grooves that sound like Kobayashi meets Dave Brubek, The Consonance completely captivates their audience time and time again.
The Consonance release their debut album Come the Day and kick off their British Columbia and Alberta tour on July 16th.
