July 23, 2010 - PRLog -- DETROIT – July 22, 2010 – The Detroit Seafood Market (1435 Randolph Street, Detroit, Mich.), and PV Lounge, will open to the public on Thursday, July 29.  The new restaurant, which occupies the space of the former Detroit Fish Market @ Paradise Valley, is owned in a partnership between Kenny Akinwale and Executive Chef Leonardo Vulagi.

Located in a turn-of-the-century historic building replete with red brick walls, polished wood floors, 15-foot high wood ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, the 7,200-square foot restaurant is situated in the Harmonie Park, Paradise Valley district of Detroit.  Blending the past with contemporary designs, the restaurant seats up to 170 people. Eliciting the feel of several rooms within a room, diners can choose to be seated in the center of the dining area in large, lemon wedge-shaped booths or in semi-private booths on the perimeter of the space.

The restaurant also features the 1,500-square foot PV Lounge, whose eclectic feel is reminiscent of New York’s So-Ho district.  The lounge features a top shelf bar; $3 appetizers; themed nights, including the return of Martini Mondays; live music and the top DJs in Detroit.

“Metropolitan Detroiters want to have an urban experience when they eat downtown.  The Detroit Seafood Market is in a class by itself,” said co-owner Kenny Akinwale.  “I am so thrilled that Executive Chef Leonardo Vulagi has decided to take this journey with me, as well as for the opportunity to help the City of Detroit create more than 50 new jobs.”

“We are very excited to offer our guests an enjoyable and affordable dining experience,” adds Executive Chef Vulagi.  “Along with a wide variety of wine selections, diners will enjoy such menu selections as fresh seafood and homemade desserts, including our famous bread pudding and apple strudel.  We have increased our meal selections to include steaks, chicken, lamb chops and the best hamburger to be found in Detroit.”

Open for lunch and dinner, the Detroit Seafood Market’s menu also offers entrées including: Broiled Chilean Sea Bass “Pan-Asian Style,” Seafood Fettuccine, Broiled Florida Snapper with Crab Meat, and All-You-Can-Eat Crab Legs on Wednesdays.

The Detroit Seafood Market is open Monday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. – midnight; and Sunday from 4 – 9 p.m.  The PV Lounge, which will feature live music on Fridays and Detroit’s top DJs on Saturdays, will be open until 2 a.m.
