WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA UNIVERSITY, a service from WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA (WCF), will host a seminar titled, Effective Employee Communications. The August workshop is presented by Jackson Lewis LLP.

In the current economy, as employers struggle to maintain service excellence with reduced workforces and lower employee morale, the quality of an organization’s team members has never been more critical.  Being able to manage employee performance through effective communications is essential as what you say and how you say it can make all the difference. This session will discuss the practical and legal ramifications of evaluating employees and will offer “best practices” advice on how to approach employees through the company’s performance and discipline process.

Lillian Chaves Moon, an attorney in the Orlando office of Jackson Lewis LLP, devotes the majority of her practice to employment litigation, defending employers in federal and state courts, as well as before the EEOC and other administrative agencies.  She also provides clients with day-to-day advice and counseling regarding employer policies and various workplace discrimination laws, OSHA, privacy and data breach issues as they arise.  Moon has served as an appellate attorney for the United States Department of Labor, representing the Secretary of Labor in federal appellate courts in cases brought pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
