Aug. 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter invites you to join our DOG PACK, and come Strut Your Mutt!

Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter will join Best Friends Animal Society as they present Strut Your Mutt in New York City! Every dog has its day, and in NYC your dog’s day is Sunday, September 26! Join us for a scenic walk along the Hudson River Park to help homeless pets in our community, and then celebrate afterwards at a fabulous PAWty--the ultimate doggie festival at Pier 84! The 1.8-mile walk will begin and end at Pier 84, where the Festival will take place. Pier 84 is located right next to the Intrepid at W. 44th Street & 12th Avenue.

Registration/Check-In opens at 6:30am, and the Walk will begin promptly at 8:30am. As only 2000 people are able to be accepted for this event, be sure to sign up now by visiting www.bestfriends.donordrive.com.  Be sure to join the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter Dog Pack.

The Festival, which ends at noon, will feature attractions including:

Belly Rub Hub, where we'll be offering free doggie massages to participating pooches!
Downward Dog, an area filled with PAWSitive vibes where you and your best friend can stretch and practice "Dogi" moves!

Canine Cafe, offering free yummy treats from local doggie bakeries and cafes.
Doggie Boutique, where you can check out the coolest pet products and accessories from a variety of vendors.

Plus don't miss the training demonstrations, staged contests and games, photo opp's, pet psychic, food, music and much more!

Help raise much needed funds for Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter!
Register now and help our homeless pets. You can raise money by registering as part of the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter Dog Pack who will all walk together to show support of our efforts to improve the lives of homeless pets.

If you want to sleep in that day and support us in spirit, you can register as a Dog Dozer or Cat Napper for a discounted fee and still get a 2010 Strut Your Mutt earth-friendly t-shirt.

The top individual fundraiser and his/her dog will be featured in Best Friends Magazine and on the 2011 Strut Your Mutt t-shirts!!

Online registration(www.bestfriends.donordrive.com) will end on September 24 at noon, after which point you are welcome to register on site at the event for an increased fee.
