President Barack Obama recently delivered the commencement address at Kalamazoo Central High School in Michigan, a move that BrainstormUSA points out shone a spotlight on the students and educators who successfully campaigned to bring him to the school to deliver the address to the Class of 2010. BrainstormUSA explains that this was a much-needed boost for public school educators and students in a state that has seen more than 9,000 educators now facing the prospect of layoffs due to a budget crisis. BrainstormUSA recognizes that what is occurring in Michigan is playing out in many other states, with lawmakers being forced to increase class sizes, cut programs like music, art and physical education, and even looking at shortening the school week from five days to four. Brainstorm USA, LLC, an educational software marketing company, is on a mission to help students realize their dreams through supplementing the learning experience with software under its 2Be Education Learning system that simulates the school curriculum from Pre-K through 12th grade.

The Keep Our Educators Working Act (S.3206) sponsored by Senator Thomas Harkin (D-IA) and The Local Jobs for America Act (H.R. 4812) sponsored by Rep. George Miller (D-CA) would create The Education Jobs Fund, which is now moving through Congress, would bring in $23 billion in aid to save an estimated 300,000 education jobs, as previously included passed by the House in the Jobs for Main Street Act. BrainstormUSA has found that this fund will only come to fruition if members of the House and Senate act with a sense of urgency to staving off a brewing crisis by including the Jobs Fund in emergency supplemental legislation currently before them. Education cuts strike at the heart of the school experience and it is imperative that parents must inform their elected officials to vote in favor of this legislation and funding to help save our schools.
BrainstormUSA believes that parents must also be mindful of the fact that the education of their children is extremely important. That includes reinforcing the lessons taught with software from a reputable company such as Brainstorm USA, who will form a partnership with the parent and student to facilitate mastering what is taught in school. BrainstormUSA shed light on the fact that the passage of the Education Jobs Fund provision is paramount. The reason is based upon the fact that jobs and reform go hand-in-hand and a loss of education jobs threatens to undermine any progress being made to improve student achievement and expand academic opportunities needed to gain acceptance into colleges and universities. So, investing in our children’s education is paramount and we cannot keep our economy growing without teachers. Investing in your child’s education is vital and will help millions of students become more productive citizens and have a positive effect on America’s long-term fiscal strength and growth.

Brainstorm USA would like to partner with you to help your student succeed and achieve to his or her fullest ability in school. In the meantime, please contact your local elected official and tell him or her to vote for passage of the Education Jobs Fund.
