July 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Humboldt Storage and Moving, greater Boston’s oldest moving company, United Van Lines agent and experts in low-stress moving was recently honored with the Empowerment Award from Waltham-based non-profit More Than Words.” Humboldt received the first and soon to be annual award recognizing their dedicated corporate partners.

Humboldt was recognized for their steadfast commitment to the organization. Humboldt has been working hard to create awareness for More Than Words by informing their customers that there is a fast and easy way to dispose of unwanted books, DVD’s and CD’s when they move. In a very short period of time, Humboldt has been responsible for securing countless donations which in turn, are sold at More Than Words. Humboldt retrieves these donations from customers and others and delivers them free of charge, which helps to fund the programs of the organization.

More Than Words, based in Waltham http://mtwyouth.org/ serves youth who have been in foster care, court-ordered, homeless or out of school. The youth collectively help run a used online and retail book business as a vehicle to gain skills critical for their successful transition into adulthood and employment. The youth also work as a team to help run a café and community space at the Moody Street location.

“We took on supporting More Than Words because we knew we could make a difference on a number of levels,” stated James Sullivan, president of Humboldt. “First, the mission of More Than Words is a compelling one so our support came easy. Second, by helping our customers reduce the amount of items they want to take with them on a move, we reduce their stress and in turn, help generate funds for these worthwhile programs.”
