Jeff Cook, blues artist, releases initial CD.

July 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Jeff Cook, blues artist, has announced the release of his first CD. "Blues With an Attitude" is a collection of songs from his heart and soul. They are the result of love and lost love and the pain and anger that resulted from these experiences. Some of these stories have a little humor in them as well. Not all of these stories are true to life but the emotions are. If you've never felt this pain, then you've never been in love.
           Like a lot of musicians, he has loved music since as long as he can remember. As a kid in the 60's and 70's, he fell in love with the rock music of that time. By the 1980's he fell madly in love with the blues. He has spent the last 25 years perfecting his guitar skills and the last 5 years contemplating life and writing songs.
    His road to this point in his own words, “I grew up in Western Pennsylvania and graduated High School in 1979 at a time when all the steel mills were closed or closing down. A lot of people were put out of work and the economy of western PA was a mess. I soon found myself working in a bottling factory in Florida, which along with all the other problems of trying to be an adult, just about drove me nuts. I have loved music since I can remember and I had wanted to learn to play the guitar since I was a small child. Depression had set in to a point that I had to do something to keep my mind busy and one day I stopped at a small music store on the way home from work. I bought a cheap guitar and tried to teach myself. After a couple months and blisters on all my fingers, I signed up for lessons at Lewis Music store and was taught by a old man named Bob Hall. Bob started from the beginning teaching me to read music, about the different scales, and chord forms. 20 years later I am in love with the blues and writing my own songs, improvising the guitar solo's in the blues tradition. I know my style is not for everyone but I hope that other people will appreciate and enjoy my music as well. Thanks for your interest. Jeff Cook”
     The CD contains 10 original songs and 2 blues standards. "Little Senorita", the first single from the CD, is a rockin' boogie tune about finding love and the eventual breakup. "Don't Judge Me" is in the form of a classic 12 bar blues and expresses his disgust with people that like to judge and categorize other people. He makes a political statement with "Bunch of Crooks" which is simple commentary over music on his view of the state of corporate America. "Desperate Times" is a statement on the trials of being broke and out of work. Other highlights on the CD include "Be So Bad", "Something's Got To Change" and "Bring Me Down Again" all of which deal with the trials and tribulations of love and love lost.
