July 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Michigan Democratic Congressional Candidate Scott Withers is honored to announce he earned the endorsement of the National Organization for Women (NOW) today.

Withers earned the endorsement because of his unwavering dedication to ending sexual and racial discrimination, violence against women, fighting for economic equality for women and minority groups and reproductive privacy rights.

“This is a true honor for me,” said Withers.  “I have been blessed to have strong women in my life serving as mentors and teachers.  Over half of the population in our district is female.  Many have been discriminated against and been the victims of violence.  In 2010, this is unacceptable.”

This is the first time the National Organization for Women has endorsed a candidate in the MI-5 race.  Withers is only one of two candidates statewide to earn the distinction.
