July 15, 2010 - PRLog -- The National Flood School is introducing a new Contractor Endorsement Scheme to help signpost insurance companies and consumers to a trusted network of professional flood and fire restoration professionals.
The scheme endorses the performance of members and gives consumers the confidence in the works undertaken by a certified individual or company.
Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum memberships are available, graded on the skill-set and experience of the individual member.
Chris Netherton, managing director of the National Flood School, said: “The scheme itself is a simple and effective way for insurers, loss adjusters and potential flood or fire-damaged householders to find approved members.
“However, to ensure peace of mind for insurers and policyholders - and to maintain the prestige of the programme - we have set challenging standards for membership.
”This is an exciting development for the restoration sector and one that we have been urged to adopt by professionals in the industry for sometime.”
Since its launch in 1988, the National Flood School has been involved in teaching the theory, science and practice of restoration in real-life circumstances.
It offers a broad range of specialist courses to train restoration professionals and provides information and support for many other associated industries, including insurers and loss adjusters.
To support its work, the National Flood School has built and uses The Flood House – located at its headquarters in Farnham, Surrey.
Believed to be the only purpose-built floodable house in Europe, the structure - comprising of eight rooms and 60 common household materials - is regularly flooded with 1500 gallons of water.
