Hilly Fields Live Music Concerts

Free live music on the bandstand at Hilly Fields Park, Enfield

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 14, 2010 -
Electric Blues Club in association with the Friends of Hilly Fields are proud to present  live music concerts at the park. Join us by the bandstand with friends, family, a rug and a picnic to enjoy some great blues.

18th July 2010: 3pm - 5pm

RoXi & the Blue Cats are a local 5 piece band whose members have appeared on stage, radio and TV.

Fronting the band is dynamic vocalist Roxi (winner of the Greenwich Talent Show televised on ITV 6 '0' Clock Show judged by Jools Holland), produced and presented RoXi's New Band Show and Through The Night Show on Town FM, has subsequently appeared on Radio, TV and venues throughout the UK, Europe and the USA as a solo artist and front woman for a variety of covers and original bands. Her powerful, versatile range and emotive, raunchy style has been likened to such artists as Janis Joplin, Etta James and Stevie Nicks. From the gruff growl sliding into mellow sexy tones through to stratospheric notes, Roxi is an energetic and emotive performer who keeps the audience enthralled.

The Blue Cats line up this year includes brilliant ex U-Boat bass player Philip Plant (also played on Man Who Fell To Earth film soundtrack and with Red Buddha Theatre), Rick Moxon on rhythm guitar, exquisite licks from guitar teacher Martin Ellins on Lead Guitar and joining them on drums is well respected drummer Brian Johnson who has worked with everyone from Big Bands to major artists.

The band will be performing an eclectic mixture of rockingly good blues cover songs and original music with support during the breaks from Jim Dawson and Lou.

Note that if raining, the event will be held at St Luke’s Church. Nearest rail stations to Hilly Fields are Gordon Hill or Buses W8 and 191. Car Park at Whitewebbs Golf Course (Beggars Hollow, next to the Rose and Crown P.H., please do NOT use the pub car park!)
