Friday night’s opening at the Artist Trifecta Gallery drew hundreds of art lovers as the winners of the AT Photo Scavenger Hunt were unveiled. Jocelyn Dorsey of WSB’s People 2 People along with Amanda Brown, director of the gallery, presented awards in four categories.
Having created an unprecedented event, the Artist Trifecta hosted a Photo Scavenger Hunt on June 19th. The teams gathered for the 12-hour race against the clock to shoot, edit, print and submit a scavenger hunt list of items in the Castleberry Hill Historic District. The items needed to complete the photo competition ranged from the obvious to riddles that had to be answered before knowing what to shoot. With the stakes high – the winner would get gallery representation, a month-long exhibit opening during the Castleberry Hill Art Stroll and a private VIP reception, the competitors took the competition to heart and gave their all to their photographs and finished product.
Judged by Isoul Harris of 944 Magazine, Fay Gold of Fay Gold Gallery and Owen Thompson of Digital Picture, the winners were judged on artistic interpretation, originality, quality, saleability and content. Surrounded by 400+ friends and family members, the Overall Grand Prize went to Blayne Beacham, a local Atlanta photographer. Jeremy Davis won for Most Artistic and was awarded a bottle of wine from the award sponsor, the Wine Shoe. Alex Neely won for Best of Neighborhood. Kelly Bozarth and Raymond Scott won for Most Creative and were awarded dinner at No Mas Cantina.
The winner, Blayne Beacham, was interviewed by Jocelyn Dorsey amidst the celebration and showing of her “Wonderland”
Watch People 2 People on Sunday, July 18 for the full story. A special thanks to Owen Thompson and Digital Pictures, WSB and Jocelyn Dorsey, Fay Gold, Isoul Harris, No Mas Cantina and the Wine Shoe for judging and sponsoring the event.
