The National Genealogical Society has classified genealogy as the second most popular hobby in America after gardening, and one of the most searched Internet topics. Discover your family history with a fun and interesting presentation at Oliver Wolcott Library Tuesday, August 10 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The program will cover:
• Tools available for genealogy research, onsite and online
• How to keep your information organized
• How to review your finds to fill in gaps and gather more interesting details
Beth Mariotti, a professional genealogist, will be leading this program. She specializes in colonial New England and New York immigration research. She preserves old documents and photos, using them to create family heirloom books. Mariotti especially enjoys lending historical context to genealogy research.
