Members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington will enjoy free admission to the movies this summer through a partnership with Regal Entertainment Group’s Free Family Film Festival. Regal Entertainment Group is also providing the Club with a stipend to help cover staff expenses and transportation.
“Our Club kids can’t wait to take a trip to the movies and it wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of Regal Entertainment Group,” said Club Director, Alison Lauderdale of the Clinton & Gloria John Clubhouse. This summer, we are serving 485 kids daily and are certainly grateful for opportunities like Regal’s Free Family Film Festival. Our goal is to offer fun and engaging activities for our Club kids.
“Regal Entertainment Group is very excited to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and to provide financial support for local Clubs across the country. By providing these grants for transportation to our theatres, we will be able to host young people from numerous Boys & Girls Clubs this summer,” said Dick Westerling, senior vice president of marketing and advertising for Regal Entertainment Group.
The Free Family Film Festival offers G and PG-rated movies for 9-weeks during the summer at participating Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres. Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington shares the joy at Cinema 99 on Highway 99 thanks to Regal’s grant program entitled Mornings at the Movies.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington have played an integral role in the community for ten years, providing daily programs and services to over 2,000 young people annually. The Club is open Monday through Friday from 7am-6pm with programs that emphasize education and career enhancement, character and leadership development, health and life skills, the arts, sports, fitness and recreation.
