July 14, 2010 - PRLog -- WINAMAC, IN., July 14, 2010 – The Braun Corporation, the world’s largest manufacturer of wheelchair-accessible vans, ramps and wheelchair lifts, announced today the U.S. market introduction of two all-new BraunAbility products - the 2010 Honda Odyssey Entervan and the 2011 Toyota Sienna Rampvan® XT. The company now offers a wheelchair-accessible conversion for the three most popular minivans in the U.S. market.

With BraunAbility accessible vehicles, wheelchair users have the option to ride as passengers or, if able, to drive the van. According to U.S. Census data, there are approximately 4.3 million wheelchair users in the nation, including veterans, seniors, adults and children with disabilities. “Mobility is not a luxury; it’s a necessary component to an independent life,” said Braun’s President, Nick Gutwein. “By expanding our product line, we hope to more fully address the wide variety of needs in the marketplace”.

The introduction of the 2010 Honda Odyssey Entervan rounds out the diverse BraunAbility product line-up. The continually popular Odyssey minivan is celebrated for its aerodynamic styling, impressive interior options and outstanding reliability and comfort – qualities that are all retained during the conversion process.

BraunAbility’s 2011 Sienna Rampvan XT offers accessibility for wheelchair and scooter users in a new, sleek design with enhanced interior options. The Toyota Sienna is praised for its excellent quality, design, and comfort. This accessible conversion builds on these attributes with exceptional interior space for greater maneuverability.

Notable features of both the Toyota Sienna Rampvan XT and the Honda Odyssey Entervan include an automatic door and side-entry ramp as well as a lowered floor that features three wheelchair securement options. Additionally, the van’s automatic kneeling system lowers the rear suspension, allowing for a gentle ramp slope and ample sliding door height (56” for the Rampvan, over 54” for the Entervan). Also, BraunAbility’s Step and Roll front seats can easily be removed, allowing customers to drive the vehicle or ride in the passenger position.

The Toyota Sienna Rampvan XT and the Honda Odyssey Entervan will be available at BraunAbility dealerships across the country. Braun’s nationwide dealer network offers over 200 convenient locations. Visit http://www.braunability.com for more information or to find a dealer.

About The Braun Corporation

The Braun Corporation is the largest manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans, ramps, and wheelchair lifts worldwide and enables people with physical disabilities to regain mobility and lead active and independent lives. The Indiana-based company was founded by Ralph Braun, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at a young age and unable to walk by age 15. Ralph was motivated by his disability to invent the world’s first electric scooter (the Tri-Wheeler) and wheelchair lift (the Lift-A-Way) in his parents’ garage. Word spread and demand for the product increased, resulting in the birth of Save-A-Step Manufacturing, which ultimately became The Braun Corporation. Many of Ralph’s best customers were inspired to become mobility dealers and are located across the country. The company offers the most diverse line of vehicle platforms in the industry, including the BraunAbility Entervan® (Chrysler/Dodge and Honda) and Rampvan® (Toyota Sienna).
