Here at Mars Drinks we dedicate our time to more than delivering excellence through KLIX and FLAVIA.

July 13, 2010 - PRLog -- During the past few weeks we’ve been encouraging our associates to join in with the Mars Volunteer Programme (MVP). This volunteer initiative is inspired by Mars Drinks’ five principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Freedom and Efficiency. The programme is a great opportunity for our associates to make a difference in their local communities.
The month of June was declared as ‘MVP Month’ where we devoted our efforts to bringing in unwanted items and donating them to three very worthy local charities.

The three charities Mars Drinks chose to support with this latest initiative were:  Naomi House, Trinity Winchester and Sebastian’s Action Trust. Three of the four weeks were dedicated to each charity and in the final week, we had a final push for donations for all three.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all our associates who have been more than generous. Everything from books to boxing gloves were carefully brought in and gratefully received.

It was great to see the huge mountain of items that was so kindly donated. MVP month was so successful the Basingstoke Gazette even came down to join us for a celebratory cup of coffee and to witness first hand the mass of contributions for themselves!

Here’s a bit about the charities and where the donations went:

Naomi House children’s hospice (http://www.naomihouse.org.uk/) is a charity in which Mars Drinks has had a longstanding relationship with. It supports children and young people with conditions that mean they’re unlikely to live to become adults. The MVP month saw their charity shop receive a sudden flood of clothes, games and books from the Mars Drinks team.

Sebastian’s Action Trust (http://www.sebastiansactiontrust.org/index.php) is creating a unique facility that will offer respite holidays to very sick children and their families and is another charity that Mars Drinks has supported through their voluntary work in the past. The contributions made to the Sebastian’s Action Trust will help to stock both their online shop and their recently opened charity book store in Bracknell.

Trinity Winchester (http://www.trinitywinchester.org.uk/) works in both Winchester and Basingstoke and helps those experiencing the effects of homelessness or vulnerable housing, along with other issues. The Mars Drinks associates offered contributions of clothes and food to directly help the homeless.
