Northerners most prolific online buyers
A new study by the UK’s leading city deals site reveals the top 10 cities in the UK that prefer to shop online than on the high street. The results show Northerners prefer to shop online.
The UK’s leading daily city deals website conducted research of 1,372 people across the UK to discover which cities prefer to shop online and which prefer to hit the high street. The study also reveals the reasons behind each cities’ preference.
The research by http://www.Groupola.com reveals that cities in the north of the country buy the majority of their shopping online.
Of the respondents that live in Blackburn, 67% buy the ‘majority’
The study by http://www.Groupola.com shows that 61% of those that live in Leeds buy more online than on the high street. 31% of those admit that they ‘dislike’ shopping on the high street, compared to 27% who find shopping online ‘cheaper’ than the high street.
According to the research commissioned by http://www.Groupola.com, below are the top 10 cities in the UK that admit to buying the ‘majority’
1. Blackburn – 67%
2. Leeds – 61%
3. Nottingham – 56%
4. Exeter – 54%
5. Ipswich – 51%
6. Glasgow – 48%
7. Middlesbrough – 46%
8. Portsmouth – 41%
9. Cardiff – 37%
10. Dundee – 34%
48% of those that live in Cardiff prefer to shop on the high street, however, 14% of the respondents from Cardiff admitted to shopping online whilst at work.
Of the 34% that shop online in Dundee, 14% admitted to purchasing things from the internet when they felt ‘bored’. 42% of the residents from Dundee claim to ‘enjoy’ shopping on the high street, whilst 46% ’like the convenience’
