July 13, 2010 - PRLog -- San Diego, Ca – The 2010 NPSL Western Division Championship match has been set. San Diego Boca FC will travel to Sacramento to take on the host Sacramento Gold this Sunday to determine the Western Division Champions and representatives in the 2010 NPSL Final Four on July 29-31 in Madison, Alabama.

San Diego Boca FC earned their way to the final by defeating Real San Jose 4-0 on the road Saturday night in San Jose. Boca FC placed third in points at the end of the regular season, but appears to have saved their best futbol for the playoffs.

Boca FC Head Coach Papo Santos said, “We have consistently been improving our game as the season has gone on. We have had our ups and we have had our downs, but we have steadily gotten better, and we are peaking at the right time. This match with Sacramento will be the most important game for us all year long and we expect to be at the top of our game as Sacramento is very tough at home. I hope our fans can drive and or fly up as it’s going to be a very good match either way.”

The Sacramento Gold advanced to the final after their 6-3 victory over the Bay Area Ambassadors Sunday night at River City High Stadium. Sacramento has been at the top of the table for much of the season, and just knocked out the only team that beat them all year.

The two matches that took place between Sacramento and San Diego during the regular season lend little help in evaluating the possibility for success for either side. Although Sacramento came away from each competition with three points, Boca FC put together a very encouraging performance to end the regular season against the Gold on short rest. Given a full week to recover, San Diego is in a favorable position to become the second team this season to provide Sacramento with the taste of defeat, and in so doing, claim the position of Western Division Champions and NPSL Final Four representatives.
