Orange County Salons: Summer, Beach, and Hair Color

July 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Ladies and gentlemen your ultimate protection while frolicking in the sun is must. What’s more, is that for you ladies your hair color, its condition, and shine are all being jeopardized while living it up at the beach or by the pool. Blonde hair color becomes sallow, brassy, and straw like during summer. Deeper brunette hair color can go reddish while lighter brunettes go golden if lucky. Next thing you know, you need a color touch up. Redheads glow amber or better yet strawberry, but your fairer delicate skin should keep you from going out in those damaging rays for hours on end. Don’t be fooled redheads. Whatever way you slice it, the sun is not a friend to anyone’s hair.


Damaging UV rays cause the hairs’ cuticle to dull, dehydrated, and promotes hair frizz. Oh yeah big time. Even those with straight hair know what I am referring. Now lets mix in salt from the sea or pool chemicals. This is going to hurt. Now your hair gets stripped of its oils, accelerates undesired color tones, and can even create barriers due to metals that adhere to as well as within the hair shaft. Don’t believe it. Fine, but after a long weekend in the sun take some time to examine your hair in the mirror. Do you see any differences? We bet you do.

Ah, but there is a balance. May we suggest scheduling a treatment to counter balance all that fun you are having outdoors. You know, stop those brassy or yellowed blonde tones, correct that red in your brunette, and rehydrate those locks. Yes redheads you too are invited.
