A local Colbert County resident has taken to the internet to voice her concerns and issues with her local Department of Human Resources office. Camilla Peters, a mother of four children, has partnered with Colbert DHR Exposed to strengthen her case and allow herself the opportunity to document factual information revolving around the removal of her children.
"There have been so many failures within Colbert County DHR that I'm tired of keeping my mouth shut. This is my life that is being affected and I refuse to sit back and let the system take over. My children are my main concern; if I am reduced to silence then I'm letting this agency win."
When asked if she fears retaliation from the Department of Human Resources, her response was quick: "If I'm not heard and my concerns are not addressed, I will just get a little bit louder. I'm not going away as long as my children are involved. They can retaliate against me going public but I will push it just a little bit farther. Any mother who has had her children ripped from their care for no reason would do the same thing."
Colbert DHR Exposed is a non-profit website established to give a voice to those affected by decisions made through the Colbert County Department of Human Resources. This includes food stamp denials, child support issues and children wrongfully removed by Child Protective Services.
