This story, Survivor Spirit Book Two – Megan’s Ark, tells of how and why the global catastrophe occurs after an eighteen-year-old boy in South Africa, born without limbs, in attempting to prevent such a happening, accidentally causes the exact opposite effect.

The survivors in Malta, living underground whilst dust clouds blot out the light from the sun, emerge to find what is left of the island sinking beneath the sea. Just before making their escape from the nearly submerged rock in a sailing ship, astronauts from a space shuttle return to earth and join them in their search for another land. Fifty-five people learn to live without electricity, oil, or industrial technology. With no money, politics or religion, they are forced to radically change their way of life in order to survive as a community.
