Checks totaling $45,000 from funds raised by the Bubba the Love Sponge® Foundation through donations and its second annual “Bubba’s Bikes for Badges” charity event held in St. Petersburg, Florida in May will be presented by Tampa-based, syndicated and satellite radio talk personality Bubba the Love Sponge® to the widows of three Florida law enforcement officers who were killed this year in the line of duty:
- Dixie County Sheriff’s Office Captain Chad Reed, who was shot and killed during a shootout in January
- St. Johns County Deputy James Anderson, Jr., who was killed in an auto accident involving an intoxicated driver in January
- Florida Highway Patrol trooper Patrick Ambroise, who was killed in May when his patrol vehicle was hit by another driver on the Florida Turnpike
