Follow on Google News | ‘’K’’ responds to an article in the USA Today about European intolerance‘’K’’ responds to an article of the USA Today which he believes is misleading Americans into thinking that Europeans are racists, xenophobes and intolerants.
The blog was posted at http://smmgeneration.blogspot.com on Wednesday July 8, 2010. K tried to communicate his comments to the USA Today via their Website, twice and both times he received a message saying that someone would get back to him if they considered it was necessary. Since they have not written back, after more than five (5) days, it probably means that they did not consider it warranted. In K’s opinion, the biggest problem with this article is how misleading it can be for someone (a reader) that has never been to Europe, especially to France, when he/she simply reads the title printed in bold, large capital letters. An American citizen may wonder, after glancing at this, how Europeans can be so flippant about such subjects. But the truth is: they are not! In his blog, K tries to establish a few facts about Europe’s reality when it comes to Burqa and religious freedom. At the same time, K explains the SMM Generation’s position regarding what they consider to be the most important right - the right to Complete Freedom of Choice – in face of the right to religious freedom. K hopes that the USA Today will publish his response to the article in its paper so that another side of the story can be shown. But while he waits, hoping that they do react at some point, K has decided not to let it go which is why he has decided to post this article on his recently created blog. End
