The civic reception for the players is to be hosted by Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, and over a million fans are expected to line the streets for an open-top bus parade.
The parade is due to last for 2 hours, ending at the esplanade near the Puente del Rey, where the festivities are expected to continue officially until midnight, and unofficially probably a lot longer!
The current Spanish football team made history by becoming the first representatives of their country to win the World Cup, a successful campaign culminating in a deserved 1-0 victory over the Netherlands in a somewhat bad tempered final/
The 2010 version of the World Cup will be remembered as a very successful tournament, with Spain regarded as worthy winners.
