These new Student Loan and Student Grant laws will take effect on July 1st, 2010. The interest rates, total annual amounts, and repayment programs were all impacted by these changes.
The main goal of these new laws and changes is to make it easier and less expensive for students to receive financial aid in both student loans and government grants. Students can now apply directly to the government for any federal student loans from the US Education Department which will eliminate many the hassles and some of the cost of going through traditional financial institutions like banks and other lenders.

We have created many articles on the Student Aid & Fiscal Responsibility Act and the new changes to many of the government programs. Student Education Loans represent about 85% of the Student Financial Aid available.
The better you understand these new changes, the better deal you will get on any Student Loan. And some of these changes also impact prior student loans and pay back requirements.
