A new low-cost errors and omissions (E&O) insurance protection program for insurance agents and brokers is now being offered through the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance http://www.AALTCI.org .
According to Jesse Slome, executive director for the national professional organization, every agent should have this important liability coverage but many find the cost prohibitive or the application requirements complex. The new offering is available for insurance agents who sell a variety of life and health products including long-term care insurance as well as annuity products.
The cost for $1-million per-claim is $510-per-year in all states. "In some states this will be significantly lower than what agents and brokers now pay for E&O insurance," Slome notes. "in other states it will still be comparable to other offerings." The Association's plan has only eight underwriting questions and is even available to newly licensed agents and brokers.
