Six Sigma Tennis Author Named Executive Director Of Gloria Musicae

Gloria Musicae, Sarasota’s premiere professional vocal chamber ensemble, is pleased to announce the following changes in its Staff and Board of Directors:

July 12, 2010 - PRLog -- •   Joseph Holt: Named Artistic Director. Dr. Holt recently retired after 20 years as the “Official Pianist” of the renowned United States Army Chorus and Associate Conductor of the Choral Arts Society of Washington, DC. He initially came to GM for the 2009-2010 season as the ensemble’s Music Director.

•   Steven Falk: Named Executive Director. Steven is a bass with Gloria Musicae and has had an active career as a performer, having attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He is a former Stanford University Tennis sports psychologist and the author of “Six Sigma Tennis,” now mixing sports entertainment, business and music in his new position with GM.  He replaces June LeBell.  For further information: www.stevenfalk.com

•   Edward Alley: Elected President of Board. A former opera conductor with The Goldovsky Opera Theatre, conductor of the illustrious Seventh Army Symphony and Manager of the New York Philharmonic, Ed served as Vice President of GM during the 2009-2010 season. He replaces Robert Garvin who was President for several years and remains a Director.

•   Bernard Hahnke: Elected Vice President of Board. A baritone with Gloria Musicae, Bernard served for several years as the ensemble’s Executive Director. He replaces Ed Alley as V.P.

•   Sandra Hahnke: Elected Acting Secretary of Board.  A former singer with GM, Sandra is also a violinist and former grant writer. She replaces Richard Robbins who recently retired as a Director.

•   Charles Chauncey and Donald McKee Join Gloria Musicae Board of Directors. Charles is a former Manager of the Buffalo Philharmonic and Donald is a retired physician and music lover.

•   June LeBell: Named Director of Development and Marketing. A soprano with Gloria Musicae, June was the first woman hired as a staff announcer at a major commercial classical music radio station in the U.S. After almost 30 years at WQXR in New York City, June currently writes a weekly column on music for The Observer and continues to lecture at various venues from Sarasota’s Holley Hall to the Met Museum in New York. About Gloria Musicae: Gloria Musicæ was founded in 1979 by Arden Fowler with Ann Stephenson-Moe and George Bledsoe, the group’s first conductor. It is composed of classically trained, compensated singers performing the highest quality music covering a broad spectrum of the choral literature. Among its purposes is to sing premiere performances of little known works of value in order to broaden the public’s knowledge and appreciation of the richness of the choral art.
