(Port St. Lucie, FL) – Members and officers of the Port St. Lucie Sunset Rotary Club recently named Jeanette Walsh of Simple Success Marketing their Rotarian of the Year. Walsh has been very active this year and has lent her marketing talents to both the club and numerous local charities with great success. Brent Harris, former club President, was on hand at the annual installation dinner to present her with the award.
The PSL Sunset Rotary has had several successful projects this year including the 11th Annual Moonlight Madness Golf Fore Kids Tournament which just wrapped up in March. Proceeds went to CASTLE. Walsh implemented an aggressive marketing plan and the tournament enjoyed its best year ever in attendance and funds raised for the CASTLE program.
The CASTLE accomplishes its goal of preventing child abuse and neglect by providing in-home counseling, teaching alternative parenting methods and non-violent discipline, offering educational seminars to help divorcing parents and their children through divorce with minimal trauma to the children, providing parenting classes, supervising visits between parent and children. Helping children is an important issue for Rotarians but it is just one of many projects the PSL Sunset Rotary is involved in. From continued efforts to raise money for the Harvest Food Outreach Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters to their sponsorship of exchange students, the PSL Sunset Rotary stays busy and is always in need of new members and volunteers.
